Data Networks, CCTV & Fire Alarm — Administrative Complex Sheikh Zayed

A 3-floor administrative complex with 12 offices, 2 meeting rooms, and a reception area. Requirements: high-speed data network, comprehensive CCTV, and fire alarm for all floors.

    The Challenge

The complex needed full CCTV coverage with zero blind spots, plus a data network capable of supporting 50+ simultaneous users without speed degradation.

Cabling was constrained by existing suspended ceiling routes and conduits, requiring precise planning to avoid interference with the complex's AC systems.

    The Solution

45 Cat6 network points across 3 floors with central 48-port patch panel

22 Hikvision cameras (indoor + outdoor) with 100% coverage of all entrances and corridors

    32-channel NVR with 8TB storage — 30-day recording retention

Hochiki fire alarm with 18 smoke heads and 2 sounder/strobes per floor

Cable routing in fully separate PVC conduits from AC conduit routes

Full documentation: network point map, camera layout, network measurement report

    Execution Timeline

    Phase 1

Day 1-3: Site survey, camera and network point layout

    Phase 2

Day 4-12: Cat6 and camera cable runs

    Phase 3

Day 13-18: Camera, NVR, fire alarm, and patch panel installation

    Phase 4

Day 19-20: Network tuning, coverage testing, documentation and handover

    Result

The complex operates with 1Gbps per network point and zero outages since handover in March 2024. Cameras cover 100% of the space with the manager accessing recordings directly from their mobile phone.
